anyone know of any great places for a wedding on the water, either a hall or fantastic retaurant for about 140 people?

Crescent Beach Club, but like it was said above, its better to be flexible there!

Sans Souci is not right ON the water, but across the street from the water, at the top of a hill with a beautiful view of Hempstead Harbor. We went to a wedding there and saw the most incredible sunset during the CH. The prices are not too bad, either

Sans Souci - just had our wedding there November 11, 2005 and it was the BEST. We lost most of the scenery due to the time of year unfortunately but you MUST try them - my guests are still raving about the food and service!

Mine is going to be at the Harbor Club in Huntington. Very reasonable prices and a BEAUTIFUl view of Huntington Harbor.
