Information on contracts....

I am booking tommorow. Is there anything I need to know about signing the contract? I think I have it all together but if there is any advice out there, I'd love to know about it. Thanks...

ummm off the top of my head... get the prices for all the extras written into you contract in case you decide to add them later they cant jack up the price, also ask if vendors and children eat at a discount, everything that they tell you is free or included make sure is written in the contract, how much an extra hour would be if you need it... honestly when i booked my bm was very thorough just make sure whatever they promise you is writtten in th contract. good luck and congratulations.

This may be out of date if you've arleady signed, but you should also make sure that if there is anything else they have agreed to that isn't covered by a standard part of the contract or their brochure (e.g., providing a number of bartenders above the 1 per 50 quoted in brochure, prior event will end x hours before, you can arrive x hours before contract time, etc). They are only bound to honor the promises written down in the contract. Not that I feel this way about my RH of course, but I did get the sense that a lot of BM's were just saying yes or 'we can work that out' to get me to book.

BTW, congrats on booking Bourne Mansion! My FH was absolutely crazy for it, but I had my heart set on an outdoor ceremony. FH told Ben he would bribe anyone necessary to have the ceremony on the back lawn!!

find out the exact ages of children, and if you have any on the border line age, what they would be (my niece turns 3, 3 days before the wedding, and thats a cut off age..shes no charge) to correspond with pricing.

how much vendors cost to eat, and IF THEY COUNT TOWARDS HEAD COUNT! Any discounts if you book a house vendor (maybe they eat free?)

What happens if you dont meet your minimum? Even tho we all think it wont happen to us, we never kno...

Ratio of waitstaff:tables. My rh is atleast one server per table. That was important to FH and I.

What happens if you cancel more than 6 mons prior to wedding?

Are they willing to throw anythingi n for free? If so GET IT IN WRITING!

DO matire d and bridal attendant have set fee or is tip at your discretion?

Do you need special accomodations?? If you have them put into writing as well.
