Re: INKSPUN- trying to charge us a shipping fee even though we're picking our envelopes up!
FYI,
I just got my envelopes back and there were a couple of mistakes. He said before that we didn't need a final proof b/c they are always accurate. Plus, there were smudges in the type on some of the envelopes.

Awww I am sorry! Did you inspect them infront of him? Does he know? If he doesn't call him tomorrow and tell him what is wrong and see if he can do anything for you!
If not pointy shoes are next to the door!

Re: INKSPUN- Bad Experience with them (Updated)
I am so sorry you are going through this.
I am the same way with principle and the 6 dollars. Yea its only 6 dollars, but if I am picking them up then why is their a shipping and handling fee??? I would be fighting that to the bone regardless of the fee.
I hope everything works out for you and thank you for sharing your experience.

Sorry you're going thru this - I hope he'll do the right thing by you, he should also eat some of the charge for getting new envelopes, if necessary.
No matter what, I'd report him to BBB.

Re: INKSPUN- Bad Experience with them (Updated)
I don't think this warrants a notice to the BBB. You people are harsh! I used Inkspun for my wedding, and I am certain that Bill will do corrections for you to his errors at no charge. I'm sure he'd even redo the smudged ones. Did you ask for this? He asks for 10% extra envelopes to be sent on the order form, so he should be able to help you quickly.
In terms of the $6.00 fee, the order form does say 'Shipping for completed order' so I understand how you are feeling. He'll need to change the wording on this to make it clear to future customers that the charge is for the labor involved in packaging them (which he will be doing even though you pick them up) and not for postage.
FYI to the brides still deciding... I guess I got lucky, I had no problems at all on either my envelopes or my place cards. I know of at least 4 or 5 brides would say the same. Even having read this, I would use Inkspun again in a second -- they are 1/3 the price of any other service I saw, I was pleased with my experience and in the end these envelopes are going to be abused by the postal service.

We used inkspun to address our envelopes. He was great.I also had to make some changes and he faxed back a copy before he did them. The envelopes all came out great and he did them very quickly. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with him but if your envelopes are smudged,he should re-do them for nothing. I would let him know.Good luck.

Valencia,
I did say that there were several brides out there who'd had good experiences, in my origininal post. But, with us he was very shady. So, I originally needed advice on how to handle it-and I got it!
I'm really glad you had a good experience:)

I would let him know that some of the envelopes are smudged and he should have no problem re-doing them. Definately talk to him about it.

I didn't use Inkspun for my envelopes .... I'm sorry you went through this for yours
If anyone is looking for a person to do theirs, please fm me. The woman I used was terrific, professional, & very FAST. I'd be happy to recommend her to anyone who needs her.
Good luck, sweetie.

Valenia, I disagree with you 100%. They are NOT harsh. She had a terrible experience with him, even if you didn't. What he said was entirely out of line, unprofessional and unwarranted. I believe she has every right to report him and to spread the word of her bad experience. This is her wedding day, the most important day of her life. Obviously 'Bill' was NOT accomodating to her, which is exactly why she posted what she did. Again, people should be allowed to post BOTH positive and negative experiences with vendors, because things are NOT always as they appear.

Re: INKSPUN- Bad Experience with them (Updated)
The point of BBB, as I understand it, is that it is an agency for consumers to complain about services for which they have paid. Since this man has not done anything to make restitution to her or fix the problem and has been rude to her I think she is well within her rights to report the incident. Could he have been having a bad day? Sure we are all entitled, but if your screw up on that bad day you must fix it!

Re: INKSPUN- Bad Experience with them (Updated)
I just spoke to Bill on the phone he was VERY nice about sending me a sample - and was so apologetic about not getting it to me sooner. I'd call him and see if he would fix the envelopes you had trouble with - he seemed very accomodating when I spoke with him. I can't wait to see the samples!!
(He did sound a little overwhelmed - maybe he was just having a bad day?? I hope so!)

minniebride14 - Can you clarify what you are referring to when you say, 'What he said was entirely out of line, unprofessional and unwarranted.'
In terms of whether or not he should have been willing to share another proof, his website states that a proof is provided, corrections made, and then printing is done. The service he is offering is very clear. Providing a second proof would have been a nice extra bonus service, but was not a part of the agreement. To report him to the BBB for not being willing to give free bonus services seems entirely unfair.
I do think that julybride had some valid concerns and problems, I am not trying to discredit that in any way shape or form. I believe that there were errors, and I believe there were smudges. I totally agree that she should be able to post this. My point is that we need to stick to the facts and not escalate the situation.
