Inner and Outer Envelopes

For those of you doing inner and outer envelopes:

Are they suppose to be the same color? I plan on buying silver envelopes for my invitations and I have no clue if I am suppose to get silver for both.

Inner and Outer Envelopes

I bought a diy kit. The outter envelope is white, while the inner envelope is color.

Inner and Outer Envelopes

I don't think they have to match. We're doing inner envelopes so that we can be very clear in who the invitations is extended to. Our outer envelopes have a flourish of silver on the inside flap, otherwise our envelope colors match.
