So, I'm DIYing the invites and traditionally, the outer envelope is addressed to whomever and then the inner envelope specifically states who is invited (like Mr. So-and-so and Guest). But, what if you're sending pocketfolds? How do you specify who's invited? (Like, if I 'm inviting someone without a date, just them) Do I just write it on the outer envelope and hope they get the hint?

Re: 'Inner Envelope' for Pocketfolds???
I was thinking the same exact thing for the past day or so...I was at first going to address the outer envelope as I would have the inner envelope and have my mom and MIL pass the word around that a) there will be no one under 18 invited and b) that the 'w/guest' was written on the outer envelope if it applied. But then my FH had a decent Idea....
We're gonna use the clear labels and nicely print 'John doe & Guest' on them and 'stick' them to the upper right hand corner of the pocket fold where it won't look to tacky. It will be better than writing it on the outer envelope and there shouldn't be too much confusion.
Let me know if you get any better ideas, and I'll do the same for you. I still have a lot of time before mine have to be finished but i've been antsy to get an idea to finish my 'prototype' invite.

Re: 'Inner Envelope' for Pocketfolds???
I'm writing the names and guest on the outside and on the RSVP cards I'm filing in the names myself. (EX. MR. John Smith and Guest). I can't do the M__________ because it's a military wedding and there are colonel and lieutenants and such. Although Mr. & Mrs. would make my life soo much easier.

Re: 'Inner Envelope' for Pocketfolds???
I was just looking online at response card wording and there was one I came across that was like:
M______________________ accept _____ regret_____
Two seats are reserved for you The favour of a reply is requested by March 18
Is that 'two seats...' thing in poor taste?

I think it isn't bad, but it would sound weird if you were to invite someone when it is only them (no guest). 'one seat is reserved for you' just doesn't sit well with me.
We've actually come up with a solution to our invites that is only doable b/c we are hand making every invite. On the inner pocket that would hold the RSVP, directions, etc, we are hand stamping / embossing the name of the person who the invite is for. We decided to make it causual too. For example 'John & Guest' or 'Aunt Debbie' (widowed - no guest) or 'John and Michelle' or just 'Jane' I'll have a pic in my album shortly...
In case you are interested, we found a magnetic alphabet letter stamp that lets you baically write out any word in stamps and stamp it.
