Do the inner envelopes HAVE to be addressed as well as the outer? If so, is it tacky if I only have the outer envelope calligraphied (is that even a word? ) and the inner envelope is blank? TIA girls!

Re: Inner envelopes?
The inner envelope does not get addressed. You put the names of the actual people that are invited. Example:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith or Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and Children
Or you can use their names too Uncle John and Aunt Jane or Uncle John and Aunt Jane Jack, Jennifer and Jessica
If you are having the outer ones done in caligraphy then I would do the inner ones too or if you can find a font on your computer close enough to it then you could just run those through the computer for the names.

Re: Inner envelopes?
The previous poster is correct, but if you really want to leave the inner envelope blank then you can. Just be sure to write the outer envelope indicating clearly who is invited.
For example, let's say you're doing both inner and outer envelopes to a couple who isn't married and don't live together and you're friends with the female it would look like this:
Outer: Ms. Mary Smith 123 Sesame Street Anytown, NY 12345
Inner: Ms. Mary Smith and Mr. Bill Johnson
BUT if you're going to only address the outer envelope and leave the inner blank it would have to read like this. Ms. Mary Smith Mr. Bill Johnson 123 Sesame Street Anytown, NY 12345
Same thing if you're inviting people with an '& Guest', you need to make sure you put '& Guest' on the outer envelope.
