Did you address your inner envelopes formally or informally:
I'm confused about how to do this. I know etiquette-wise it's supposed to be: Mr. & Mrs. John Smith. The innter-feminist in me, doesn't really like that all that much and would prefer John and Jane Smith.
What did everyone do?

Re: Inner Envelopes
Actually you aren't supposed to use first names on the inner envelope. Just Mr. and Mrs. Smith. That's what I did based on what my calligrapher said. Of course people can do whatever they want. I just went the traditional route. Hope this helps.

Re: Inner Envelopes
I addressed the inner envelope with
John & Jane
I didn't put last names. I only used last names for the outer envelope. Also, if I invited someone and guest I only put that person's name on the outer envelope and then on the inner I put Jane and Guest.
HTH!
