I just learned that my invitation doesn't come with an inner envelope and one is not available for me to order. Does anyone know when this would be the case? They're really nice invitations (not cheap) - I'm confused.

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
The French-style envelopes don't some with inner envelopes (I learned)...and any other 'different style' envelope, usually.

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
My invitations were big and square. They didn't come with inner envelopes. I don't think it is a problem.

The invitations are French - is that why???

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
Yes, that's why. (Love that style, btw...) I don't think it's something you should be concerned with. If I go with the French envelopes, I'm going to do a velum or ribbon wrap around everything, with the name(s) of the person or people invited written on either an attached card or sticker. Haven't figured it out yet...or decided on the invites.

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
Also..bigger invitations usually do not come with the inner envelope because the invitation takes up so much room ...the inner envelope would only add bulk to it!
I am not in the know - Is there a style of invitation known as French-style (and if so, what do they look like) OR do you just mean that French people do not customarily send out wedding invites with two envelopes.

It's a style of envelope...this is what it looks like. The one below is lined - that's extra $.
CP - Thanx. Oh - I like that envelope & invite a lot.

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
I have to do an inner since I don't know the last names of FH's girlfriends and it's too much hassle calling each guy and asking. So we'll put the person's name who the invite is going to on the outer envelope and we'll have to put 'joe and susan' or whatever on the inner so they know they are invited with their girlfriends. But if you know their names, put it on the outside. I really don't think people (espeically guys) even notice the inner envelopes, we are doing it out of necessity.

Hampstead...I found that at eInvite...it's not the invite I'm using - I just clicked on it to show you what I was talking about.

Re: Inner envelopes on invitations?
Our invites do not have the inner envelope. Per Martha Stewart's Summer issue this is becoming more common.
I had concerns, but loved the invites so much I decided to get them anyway
