Wedding gift. I got nothing, not even a card from my BIL and family. My DH's brother gave us nada and still says that he owes us...hello, it's been 6+ years. And he doesn't have financial issues.

A pewter salad tong set in the shape of elephants!!!! The gift had a meaning to it though - DH is from Alabama and college football is huge there. His favorite team's mascot is an elephant, and his cousin has elephant paraphenalia all over her house (she's the one that gave us the salad tongs). But did I ASK for elephant salad tongs? Were they on the registry?? NOOOOOOO. I'm sorry but I'm just not into the jungle animal theme!

The elephant tongs are HYSTERICAL!!

Our worst gift was a spool of fishing line. Retail price approx. $1.50. DH was not nearly annoyed by it as I was, though.

A re-gift of ugly candle holders (with the OLD gift tag still in the box)...oh and a king sized cheetah print bed set ...my house is all 'country'...and we have a queen sized bed... who knows!

worst shower gift was the 3 identical food dehydrators - i thought the first was kind of cool but when there ended up being 3 i was really bummed

we got a rock (it was called an amethyst church - not our style)

and

we got two coffee mugs with our astrological signs on them (this person had previously given me one for Christmas too - so now I've got two).

ETA: oh yeah, I forgot - we also got a set of motivational CDs

A set of table lamps with giraffes on the wooden pole.

We can put them together with the sheets and the elephant tongs and start a freaky safari theme!

My cousin and her significant other gave us three 2 inch candles as a wedding prestent. Not even a candleholder to put them in!!

I think that I might get some wedding present that will qualify under this thread. I'll have to let you know after the wedding.

As for the shower, everyone shopped off that registry for the most part. The people that didn't really did a good job of picking out things I would like.

There was only one gift that I did an over. It's a throw pillow that I would never choose or put out. I think it was something that she had originally bought for herself and used. (It has an Irish saying on it.) But the gift giver also gave me one of my China place settings. So I can't really fault her too much. But what to do with the pillow. . .
