My dream dress is a Monique Lhuillier 'Monet'. I hear the dress retails for over $5000. This is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over my 'dress budget'
I saw online some 'inspired' dress sites... Is going this route a good idea???
Can anyone recommend a place who does 'good' inspired work???

Re: 'Inspired' Wedding Dresses - HELP!!
I don't know of any websites, but I've heard that sometimes having a dress made can work out to be cheaper than buy one 'whole' because you can change the material and stuff to bring down the price. If you have a pic of the gown, maybe you can try a couple of dress makers and price them out.
HTH!
Good Luck!

I did alot of research on these dresses.. you can get really good quality ones for like 400 I ended up going with a dress elsewhere.. but If I didn't find the dress of my dreams I would have gone that route.. I would say go for it.. and monique makes such beautiful dresses why not have a replica made for less..

I dunno, I wouldn't do it. The gown looks gorgeous becuase the fabric and detailing is extremely high end... to copy it in less expensive terms may not work well....
There are many legit designers that are 'inspired' by that designer..... but have mastered the art of using reasonably priced fabric and detailing to its max potential.
just don't close your eyes to other gowns, and look at stuff within your budget. you will find it!

I didn't find one set dress that I loved, but I feel in love with the high-end dress details like real silk, lace, etc but didn't want to drop $5K either. I ended up finding a small designer in the city that does beautiful work for half the cost. I don't know if she could replicate a design, but you should talk to her and see if she can. Here is her site: http://www.cristinabridalcollection.com/
I found the link I used a couple of months ago.. Originally I was going to get a Monique LLeuier dress made by this company but decided to stick with my first choice.. If I did not find my first choice I would have made one by this company.. The dress that I wanted them to make would had been about $450 they are very professional and I know some brides who have used them.. Let me know what happens.. in reality not many brides have the extra $6000 laying around for a monique llehuier dress. http://www.kelibridal.com/
