are any of you making donations to American Cancer Society/American Heart Association etc.? My moms pushing this idea...What do you guys think????

Thank you so much for all your awesome opinions!!!!!!!!I think I'm going to donate to American Heart Association in memory of my father who passed away....I wanna have a calligrapher write it on a board and then frame it and put it where everyone picks up their placecards...any referrals for a calligrapher?!

I think that my friend still does calligraphy. I will check with her and let you know. If she doesn't she may know someone.

We're doing a donation to the animal shelter where I volunteer. I like knowing that the money is going to a good cause rather than to something my guests might not use.

I wanted to do this to the American Heart association b/c my dad had a stroke in July and really hasn't recovered 100%, but my mom said he would be embarressed. I think we will just take some money from gifts and do it on our own!

I love the idea....we are doing a donation to the Autism Society. I just feel like my money would be going to better use that way.

This is what I'm doing too. How is everyone displaying it for their guests? Are you putting a card at each place setting, or are you just putting a big sign where they get their placecards?

we are doing American Heart Assoc. in memory of my grandfather and FH's cousin...i like this idea because most people dont ever use the favors given out at weddings or other events.

We're doing a donation to the Islet Research and Transplantation Fund of the Diabetes Institute through the Minnesota Medical Foundation in honor of my uncle who passed away last week.

They were the only ones willing to give him a transplant (he was denied in NY) and it added 10 years to his life!

We're donating to the Wildlife Conservation fund since we were engaged at the Bronx Zoo. I'm going to put little tags that explain this on boxes of candies or chocolates for each guest.
