I was thinking about using all of the fall colors (my color scheme) as the names for the tables.
Instead of calling it table 1 it would be 'Red table' and so on. Is that too confusing for people? Or a stupid idea?

Re: Instead of traditional table numbers
How many tables are you having - will there be enough colors?

Re: Instead of traditional table numbers
do you think you'd have enough colors to have a different one for every table?

Re: Instead of traditional table numbers
here is the reason i dont like it...if i were going to a RED table, i would expect to see something RED there.
however, if you are just going after FALL terms, i would try something like:
autumn pumpkin pie apple cider hay rides changing leaves
etc...
hth
jmo, of course

I considered this too. Would that be easy for someone to remember? I'm trying to put myself in the guests shoes to think in terms of easy lol

Re: Instead of traditional table numbers
i would do it... i would put them in some sort of alphabetical order... ive been to a wedding where the tables were named and people were walking around like idiots looking for their table... total chaos!!!!

i dont think it woudl be hard to remember. plus, all those terms conjure happy images. like i could picture a pumpkin pie in my head. if i hear red, i just wonder 'red what?'
but maybe that is just me...i am odd

Re: Instead of traditional table numbers
love the fall item idea!!! You could also use names of trees (maple, oak, etc). We were at a wedding in vermont this wknd, they had table numbers but their place cards were pieces of tree bark that they wrote our names on with table number on the back... i thought it was very fall-like and fun!

you may want to check with your RH to make sure this is okay. the RH uses the table numbers for their staff & when serving the dinner.
