My Fh doesn't want to walk in and go under the arms of the BP. Is anyone else not doing this? What are you doing instead?

We didn't do this - we only had an MOH and BM, so there wasnt' much BP. WE didn't replace it with anything.

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
I'm not doing this either. I think we're going to have the guests make an aisle of sorts on either side of the door, we'll walk in, pause for pics for a sec, and then go in to our first dance.
ETA: My brother did this at his wedding and it was difficult because my brother is over 6 feet and all the girls in the BP were under 5'5', so he had to bend a lot. The way it worked was the BP was announced--each couple--and as they were announced they formed a line with girls on one side, guys on the other. Then when my brother and SIL came in, we made an arch with our bouquets and the guys hands.

We're not doing this. We are going to have my parent's announced, FI's parent's announced and then us! From there we will go into our first dance.

We aren't doing this either...actually, we're not announcing the BP or family - just us.
I figure the BP will line up around the dance floor...

We're not doing this either. I figured they would just form like a half circle on the dance floor and we will walk ito the middle of it and start our first dance.

We are not doing that either. Everyone will be announced but we are just going to walk around the dance floor.

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
We didn't introduce our bridal party...they just went into the reception with everyone else. (they were all happy about doing it that way)
When we were introduced as Mrs. & Mrs we just walked onto the dance floor and our song started and we danced.
Simple but beautiful!!

We're DEFINITELY not doing it ether. It reminds me of my sister's 1990 wedding. We also only have a MOH and BM, so we'll have the BP announced during our first dance and they can join us on the dance floor.

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
One wedding I was in & 1 I attended, the bridal party just lined up alone the edge of the dance floor & then just aplauded with everyoen else when the couple cam into the center of the dance floor. they started dancign , and the bridal party joined in. I thought that was how it was usually done.

That's an idea. . .we are trying to decide who if anyone gets announced. We want it to be the least obnoxious as possible, but I want it to still feel like a wedding & not offend anyone.
We only have 2 guys & 2 girls in our party.

I think that's what we're doing as well. Not a fan of the bridge but I think that everyone who is really important should be announced - parents, grandparents and bridal party.

Wow, now I feel like 'Odd-Man-Out'. We're planning on doing that. I think it makes for a great picture.

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
Well, I wasn't planning on it, but apparently FH has had it on his mind.
He's getting his groomsmen swords, so he wants them to hold them up and us to walk under them.
If it makes him happy....

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
i like the swords thing...funny. saw pics of a fishermans wedding where they held up fishing poles in an arch-very cute. i think if something like this works for you and your personalitites, then go for it.
i think i won't even tell FH about this tradition-knowing him he would want the groomsmen to put on star wars costumes or something...

Re: Instead of walking in under BP
we did not do this...some of our BP was really short They just made a human corridor for us to walk through..
