So darrens company forgot to add me to his insurance and I have an appt tomorrow. If I call them first thing in the morning do you think they can fix it by 1:30pm?
PS I am ticked off! He added me a week early so that this would not happen.

Re: Insurance people
you might have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed....depends on when they make the effective date.

Re: Insurance people
So it was the insurance company’s fault? Do you have anything in writing from them saying they received and knew to add you but simply forgot? You should have coverage.
What is this paper you speak of? If it has a policy number on it and your name or SS# then you should be enough, depending on the doctor. You can also have the doctors office call the insurance company up and have them verify your coverage. You have to fill out that form anyway that lists the company and the group number, etc. You need to know your co-pay and then you sign the part that says something to the regard that if your insurance company doesn’t pay you’re responsible. But that shouldn’t be a problem if you say they should have added you prior to your visit and can prove it.
Hopefully, best case scenario, you fill out the form and pay only the co-pay. Or you have them call your insurance company up BEFORE you go and only pay the co-pay.
Otherwise, worse case scenario, you pay out of pocket first and reimbursed later. Icky paperwork.
Good Luck!

No its not the insurance companies fault either. It's Darren's company..they never made the changes with the insurance company We got something from his company stating when the insurance would kick in...however I got nervous today when I still had not rec'd any insruance cards in the mail so darren called his insurance company and then we got told that they(Aetna) have no record of me being added.

Re: Insurance people
I work for Insurance. No, they will not unfortunatly be able to fix it in time. They may be able to fix it by Monday, IF your husbands GBA( group administrator) calls the insurance company and requests it be expediated....Tell them to specifically say it has to be expediated due to ' ACCESS TO CARE'.
Access to Care means you need to see a DR ASAP and need PROOF of insurance to do so. Make sure they say that, the health insurance company MUST do it quickly as possibel if thats the case. If they dont, it could take up to 30 days to correct the mistake, because they cannot make it a priority unless its a care issue.
I would try not to mention to anyone at the Dr's office the issue, if they run your Insurance and it doesnt go through, then you may have to pay upfront, but you will get reimbursed when your added retro-active to the coverage. If they dont run it through, byt the time they submit a claim to the company for payment, your info /enrollment should be on there, and they would never have known.
FM me if you have any issues ( which insurance company is it??) NEVER MIND- I saw its Aetna..they are pretty good, but I would still have his job call the group area, get someone on the phone and do as I advised.

My Dr charges $65 for an OFfice Visit. Most simple visits are between $50-75.

STAY on top of your husbands job, if you annoy them enough , they will be able to get it done by Tuesday!
It only takes like 30 minutes to load someone into the system, but imagine on a given day, there are like 100-200 people who need to be done ASAP...So thats why it takes a while.
If they give you a run around, let me know, I'll tell you what to say.
