My contract says that the insurance my vendors need to have if I don't use the halls recommended ones is like 2 million to 5 million. Is this normal?

MIne wanted something similar also - just call the vendors and tell them. I'm sure they are used to it.

Yes..it's normal. All vendors should have a GL policy with normal limits of $2,000,000 and an umbrella with limits of a mil and up...

This is true...and if they don't (like my aunt who is a florist and is doing the wedding as a gift to me) your hall should have waivers to sign. But they are most interested in DJ, Photo and Video sincethey can become injured, have power issues, etc.
