Is it common practice to ensure the wedding band along with the engagement ring??
I think it would depend on how much it was b/c I know that the reason why we insured by e-ring was b/c no policy would cover it the way my parents homeonwer's insurance covers it.
We don't have our plain bands on our jewelry policy but we do have our diamond band. My DH's work band is a plain gold band that we paid $200 for & mine is like my DH's diamond band (two-toned) but without the diamonds and we paid about $375 for that. My wedding band was custom made to fit my e-ring and was about $1,100 and DH's diamond band was about $900. So just the diamond rings are insured along with a few other piece of good jewelry.
i think you need to figure how much it would cost to insure and what the value of the ring is...in some cases i just do not think it is worth it...
We did because its an eternity band. I just feel more comfortable knowing that if I lose it, its no big deal.
You can just put it on your home owner's insurance or your renter's insurance. This way it's covered. Mine was only about 500 dollars, so i'm not too worried.
I'm going to insure mine. We are getting the appraisal for free so I decided why not insure it too.
if you have home owners or renters insurance - check the policy- iknow mine cover jewlery under $3,000 - after that i need to have a rider- so my band will be under that but i need a rider for my engagement ring
