Inter-faith Customized Ceremony?

Inter-faith Customized Ceremony?

I've contacted several officiants to discuss what they offer for our type of ceremony (him: Roman Catholic, me: Jewish), but I would much prefer to hear personal experiences from you ladies...especially b/c it's difficult to get replies from a lot of these people!

We're looking for someone (FH prefers a man) to customize our ceremony - not overly religious but a healthy balance for both of us, with a heavier focus on the two of US rather than religion...and keep it relatively short.

Has anyone had a positive experience with an officiant in a similar situation? TIA!

Try Rev Phil DellaRocca, I believe hes a vendor on him. My FH is Jewish and I was raised Catholic. He was very flexible...bascially he will do whatever you want and has pretty good ideas. We are incorporating little traditions of both religions and then just have a more spiritual ceremony.

He also wasnt a fortune like some of the other officiants!

DH & I aren't any religion so we hired Minister Keith Gugliuzza from nymarriages.com to marry us. We LOVED him. He was able to make our ceremony very personal. I highly recommend him.

We went with Rabbi Eli Greenblatt. My friend had him for her wedding and he was amazing. He is very laid back and funny. He works with inter-faith weddings all the time and focuses on you as individuals as opposed to the religion. He also will incorporate the traditions of both religions to make everyone happy. He speaks like 3-4 different languages if you need. He's reasonably priced and will travel anywhere. If you guys are signing a ketubah, he will have one made that will focus on both religions and not insult anyone. I strongly suggest him :)

Thank you everyone! While neither of us are extremely religious, it is important to us (and especially to our families) that religion is at least acknowledged.

I love the idea of a neutral ketubah, as that's important to me, being that I was Bat Mitzvahed and I know it will make my father happy. Thanks again to everyone!

I know you don't want a woman really, but rev Deb is so amazing and will completely personalize your entire ceremony and make it amazing!!!!! Everyone talks about how wonderful she is after the ceremony is over and that is what you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I actually would love a woman! I've heard more good reviews about woman officiants than males so far...but FH is pretty adamant about this one since we're already 'breaking tradition' a good amount and not getting married in a church. In a lot of ways he's VERY flexible, other ways he likes to stick to what he knows...this being one of them.

Looks like you have some great recommendations up there already! But, I'll just throw mine in...

We're going to have Judge Will Corbett...he's extremely sweet, gentle, and dignified (and reasonably priced)...check out his reviews

Good luck! :)

Pastor April was a life-saver and the best person we worked with--hands down. I wrote about her on my review, so feel free to check it out and ask me any questions :).
