I was just wondering what interest rates people with good credit have been getting in the last month or so for a 30 year fixed (not Jumbo)? We're getting our paperwork together and I want to make sure our rate is as good as we can get.

Does it run your credit? I don't really want to have our credit run again.

Re: Interest Rates
Just came back from a mortgage broker. The rate was at 6, maybe a little lower than that like 5.8.

Re: Interest Rates
Different lenders offer differnt options though, such as no points or penalty fees for paying early, some require you to put taxes in escorw etc. Do you research I got luck y that cit is charging me no fees at all for the moortgage since they have a deal with my firm. Loook nto and see if your company that you work for has any agreements

I don't work yet (graduate law school soon). I'll ask FH to find out if he has anything w/ work, but I doubt it b/c everyone there (including accountants) know he is buying a home and nobody has mentioned anything. However, the mortgage we got is 5.75 w/ no points, no penalties for paying early and taxes don't need to be in escrow...so I think it is pretty good, no?

Awesome rate for a 30-yr fixed. Definitely lower than what I've seen published the last few weeks. When did you lock?
