Re: Interesting article

Nancy, I think they will always get away with it b/c they can come up with a ton of reason why they let you go, w/o really saying that they are letting you go b/c of your pregnancy, it is so unfair.

Re: Interesting article

That happened to me.... I held a third key retail position, (assistant management).... In my last two trimesters I had a bunch of complications where I dehydrated and ended up ADMITTED INTO THE HOSPITAL 7 times!!!! Most of them were only for a few days, and only two of them PHYSICALLY interfered with my work schedule. I had physicians letters for all of them, and the only 'issue' I was faced with was it was madatory-- I had to walk around with a water bottle at all times. The manager at the store I worked at issued me a 'warning' and I called my District Manager. She said she agreed with the fact that my pregnancy MAY interfere with my work.... I informed her that it hadn't to date and that I SWITCHED my schedule the first incident and left early (to go to the hospital) the second 'incident', and had Hospital and Dr.'s notes to prove I wasn't bluffing. I tried taking the matter up with the corporate office, but they NEVER returned my phone calls... After my Manager found out about me calling my DM and corporate, she issued me a final warning and told me that if I ended up in the hospital once more, she would have to fire me for interfering with work. That was a chance and a choice I was NOT willing to sacrifice! I was glad I quit, because two days later I ended up in the Hospital AGAIN!!!!

Some people..... Thanks for letting me vent!
