Interfaith Minister

Has anyone used Susan Marlan as an officiant? If so, any feedback?

Interfaith Minister

I spoke with her, she had an attitude on the phone (maybe just a bad day?) and I think she charges more than others. Just my opinion, but I think other brides here are using her.

Interfaith Minister

I met with her. Something about her rubbed me the wrong way when I met with her, but maybe you won't have the same experience. I just didn't feel like she wanted to personalize the whole ceremony for my fiance and I. Maybe she'd change a word or two, but that's it. She also charges for travel and the minister I'm going with, Joe DiVincenzo, doesn't charge for travel and will also do a rehearsal.

Interfaith Minister/rev joe/ message for dreamy

my fiance and i met with her, we didn't care for her at all, she charges 600 she was very cold and businessy no chatting or anything to get to know us, she has some ceremonys that you can choose from, plus there's something about a woman performing my ceremony, i don't know it just doesn't seem right i believe it should be a male. call me old fashioned, we met with rev. joe and his wife, what a difference, can't say enough nice things about them give them a call, you'll see for yourself, they even do rehearsals at no extra charge, and give you the ceremony 732-1596 let me know how you liked them helen, good luck

Interfaith Minister/rev joe/ message for dreamy

Thanks so much for the messages on Joe and his wife. I have left them a email. I can't wait to talk to him and hopefully set it up. What is it about them that everyone likes so much? I'd be curious to know. Thanks.

why we really like them

i guess it's because they are real people, your ceremony isso important to them as it is to you, they want you to be so happy that you'll pass the word on. that's why we are so excited about them we've been over their house at least 2 times since we met them for coffee and they really are genuine people, you'll see for yourselves, but please let me know what you think, bye

Rev. Marlan

I agree with everyone else -- I'm planning from Chicago so I only talked with Rev. Marlan on the phone but she definitely had an attitude & was almost rude. It seems like she is just running a wedding-factory or something. We went w/ Rev. Marcia Grace Tropin.

and why we really like them too...!!

Many of the same reasons! They are just real everyday people, they took time to ask about US and how we met and so many other things! It was not like an appointment, it was just chatting and getting to know each other and going over the ceremony!! Good luck!! Val

my reasons

Rev. Joe allowed me to make our own ceremony. He gave us a ton of suggestions and then left my FI and I to decide what we wanted. We weren't rushed and we are SO excited about our ceremony! I also feel very confident that they'll be on time, etc. During the ceremony, Joe's wife even monitors him and gives him hand signals to let him know if he should talk louder, talk slower, etc. I also wanted my ceremony to be less religious and more spiritual- it's exactly that!

why we really like them

I spoke to Judy last night and she has penciled me in for my wedding date. I thought her attitude was great. I like energy! We plan on doing our first meeting with them sometime in April since we both live in Virginia right now.
