Someone asked me to do an interim QOTD.... so here it is:
How long do you plan on waiting until you have kids? (and you can even answer NEVER for those of you who don't plan on having any).
With an added snapple fact: 'It takes an interaction of 72 muscles to produce human speech.'

If it was up to FH we'd be providing our own Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. I'd like to wait about 2 years I think. That's two summer vacations worth of travel so I figure Fall 2011 we'll start trying. By the time I pop out a kid we'll both be done with our masters/law school or close to it.

OK so I would LOVE to start sooner rather than later. I don't believe that life ends when you have kids... understandibly a lot changes when you do... but I fully still intend to do the same things I do now.. but without working!! if possible!! We want a few kids and I'm already in my late 20's. I don't want to be in my 60's with teenagers. I'd rather be off relaxing somewhere's at that age.
So I might say we will try on the HM and therafter and whatever happens happens!

FH and I talked about it and we thought it would be awesome for the lil focker to be conceived in Bora Bora halfway across the world!!!

well if it were up to me, ASAP but in seriously we want to have a house first, and enjoy being married a little while...i always said before im 30, and im 27 1/2 so we will prob start trying in year or so! i love 11/11 so 11/11/11 would be cool to give birth! lol

We always said we'd try for a HM baby. However, we actually planned the whole thing out 2 weeks ago. I am on Seasonale so I only get my period 4 times a year. I have a choice of stopping in September or December. If I stop in September, I will have to deal with either PMS or my period at some point during the week of the wedding and/or HM (since we're taking such a long one). Rather than have PMS rear its ugly head, we have decided that I will stop taking the pill in December.
I spoke to my dr. about how long I should be off it before trying to conceive. She said most people say 3 months but that's only so they can see how regular you are so you get a better idea of due dates, fertile dates, etc. She said there's no harm if you get pregnant right away. So we will officially start trying the day I get off the pill.
I will be 41 and FH is 42 so we really can't delay this any longer.......

Well with FH getting excessed when his school building closed and he's still looking for September we had to cancel a lot of mini-vacations this summer and when he works and goes to school and teaches privately and I have school we NEVER see each other during the year. We try but I countdown for the weekends and for days off like you can't believe. We are waiting from September until next August to take our Honeymoon so (God willing he has a job) we are looking into a world cruise to make up for waiting a year and all of the cancelled trips. :) I cancelled a trip to Tokyo with friends from Disney and HUGE discounts this Spring, Vegas for his bday, several trips to Cali and Arizona, Maine and New Hampshire..basically everything to save money for the wedding until at least he signs with a new district. We are still going on a cruise at the end of this month to Canada with his family because it was all paid for and forgotten about long ago. But after two summers I will see what little is left on my list and we will have straightened out whatever we're doing with buying/selling/renting this house and our school schedules.

Understandable! And I COMPLETELY understand not seeing FH too often. My FH works 2 full time jobs... so over 80 hours a week. He's only off on Sundays. We life together but I feel like I live alone because he's never home! Instead I have a lot of friends that stop by. Which gets in the way on days when he actually comes home from work early. I never know when he's coming home early.

Probably 2 years. I originally didn't want to prevent anything, if it happened immediately, so be it. But I snapped out of it really quickly. We would like to have a house first (me moreso than FH), and we want to be a little selfish and travel and enjoy being alone, since we both live at home right now and never got to enjoy any privacy. Luckily, even though you never know with things like this, I appear to be healthy in that respect, and I'm still very young, so I have time on my side too. I'll be just shy of 25 when we get married, so I think if I had my first child by 28 it wouldn't be the end of the world. But no later than that...I don't think I'd like to be a mother to teenagers in my 50's.

We are probably going to start trying after the HM because if I go off of my pills before the HM then Aunt Flo will visit and there will be no fun on the HM!

Us too! I just graduated with my masters and like most people I am having a hard time finding a job, so hopefully I will get one soon, and than ll of my salary can go towards saving for a baby!

Ha. Same for FH. He wants to try right away (he'll be 41 by wedding). I will be 30 when married, want to wait at least 6 months to try

I'd love to start trying right away, but FH wants to wait at least a year. Hopefully we can compromise and start trying after 6 months of wedded bliss, but unfortunately I don't think he's going to budge. He has lots of summer trips he wants us to make next year!
