Re: intermezzo or no???
now it sounds like a great idea, BUT i'll be honest with you that on the day of it will annoy you. Right now you are focusing on details of the wedding, well all brides do this, its our job lol. BUt on that day you are going to want to have fun and dance and interract with all your guests. Remember you will have many other interruptions, speeches, dances, cake cutting, bok toss, garter toss if you do all that, some have photo montage and the list goes on. I got annoyed after a while with interruptions. I just wanted to continue dancing.
I say its not something anybody will miss and on that day you will prefer to stay on the dance floor rather than eat sorbet.

Re: intermezzo or no???
we skipped it ... although mostly for the money not because of the stopping.. my RH would just put it on the tables and not announce it.. either way we didnt think it was necessary

Re: intermezzo or no???
We're having one, but it's included either was a course, so it's really not eating in to anything.

Re: intermezzo or no???
they told me they bring it around in shot glasses on the dance floor...I wouldn't stop the music for anything if I didn't have too.

I think more people spend that course saying... what is this? Plus the whole brain freeze thing. I say skip it. But thats just me.

Re: intermezzo or no???
Our is included, and we're doing it. For ours, butlers are coming around to the tables with choices of sorbet on spoons for each guest. It's done in between courses and I'm psyched for it!

We are not doing it. We don't thinkt that it is necessary.
We went to a wedding on Saturday at Fox Hollow and many people didn't eat it because it was just placed on the table no annoucement. There was also a fair number of people who did the 'what is this' .

Re: intermezzo or no???
My RH actually did it in a really cool way. The people who were seated received it at the table. The people who were on the dance floor received a scoop or 2 in a mini ice cream cone and it was great, so refreshing, and did not take away from dancing. The entire thing was completely edible and surprisingly not messy.

Re: intermezzo or no???
We included our intermenzzo but have decided to not let anything stop for it. So if people are at their tables when it comes out- fine, if not ...oh well they will be dancing instead.
I think it all depends on personal preferance and what your family expects and likes- sometimes we have to think of the guests too.

Re: intermezzo or no???
We are actually doing the intermezzo with the salad course so that we don't have to waste dancing time. we were goin to do soup instead but realized soup in august= inferno!

You mean that there are Long Islanders out there who DON'T know what sorbet is?
I'm getting married at the Fox Hollow, and it's included in the cost of everything. We definitely won't announce it, but I'm wondering if we should have the app/salad duet and the intermezzo come out as a pair, too. . .that's actually a really good idea.

Re: intermezzo or no???
Would they really have to announce it? I've been to weddings that they just plopped it in front of me so there was no stopping. Whoever wanted it noticed and made a b-line back to their seat!

Re: intermezzo or no???
Money would be my first issue but also if you enjoy the dance floor time it seems like a waste. No one will miss it! Who needs more food when you can dance!

Re: intermezzo or no???
We are having it because my RH has it as one of the courses.
