Interviews and Thank Yous

Interviews and Thank Yous

Had an interview this morning and want to know what the trend is these days - send a follow up thank you? If so, handwritten, typed, by regular mail or email? I always read conflicting things about this.

BTW, it's at a small law firm and interviewed with two attoreys.

P.S. I want this job bad!!!

Thank you!

Agreed! I've sat on lots of search committees and hate emailed thank yous!

Thank you!!

That's what I figured. What should I say?
How do I make each one different?

Try to be specific about something you discussed with them during the interview. 'I am really impressed by the firm's commitment to pro bono work working with animal shelters...' Something to that effect....'I look forward to playing with the firm's softball team...'

and that:

'After meeting with you and the members of your team, I am sure that I would be a great fit with your organization.'

'I hope to be working with you soon'

Re: Interviews and Thank Yous

I wrote something like this:

I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. Now that I have had the opportunity to meet with you and learn a little bit more about (company name), I am even more excited about the possibility of working with you and your team. Should I be offered this position, I am confident I can bring to the table a package of skills and experience that will provide (company name) with an invaluable resource.
