Anyone not doing full introductions? Are your parents/bridal party disappointed, offended, etc.?
We kind of like the idea of being the only people introduced, but we're not sure if people will be disappointed...

Re: introductions...
Not planning on doing introductions. The wedding is yours, not theirs. Plus it cuts into the party time :)

Re: introductions...
at first we weren't doing introductions but then we decided that they should be recognized for all the help and work they have put into our day.

Re: introductions...
I think you should..but that is JMHO...
And the introductions DO NOT take away from your party time!! The most it will take to introduce your wedding party, parents and yourselves is 5-6 minutes TOPS..

It may not be 'their' wedding,,,BUT you did ask them to be part of YOUR wedding,,therefore they should be recognized....................
A wedding is about you and FH starting a new life together and your quests, bridal party and PARENTS are a huge part of the celebration................

Re: introductions...
I was thinking of not doing introductions either - except for maybe FH and I. Really the only reason being is both our parents are divorced, dad's are remarried, mom's are not. its kind of a touchy subject about who has/hasn't contributed financially, etc. So, I just figured it would easiest not to bother doing it at all. the way i see it is, it's your wedding and you should do whatever you want. :)

Re: introductions...
Well, I have guys on my side of the bridal party, so we don't have the right guy-girl ratio to make a little bridge for us to walk under, or to pair up for a dance afterward. I feel like they are going to run out there and stand there. It seems kind of awkward. Plus we've had problems with a few of them...
And if we decide to go the full intro route, where do you draw the line? The catering hall recommends introducing grandparents too. I have to fax the answers to all these questions to Land's End today, and I'm getting anxious...

Re: introductions...
we're not doing introductions aside from us being announced as Mr & Mrs.
I don't see why anyone would even care, let alone be offended that no one else is being announced.

We are not doing introductions, and I don't think anyone was at all offended. Actually, I think they were relieved!

Re: introductions...
I'm sorry, thinking about this more, you should introduce everyone. Its there day to. And thinking its just yours is kinda selfish. Even if the numbers are off, put two guys with one girl.

Re: introductions...
We'll prob due the full introductions, never thought otherwise. But if you don't want to they really shouldn't get offended. On the other hand, if they contributed a lot and paid for your shower, b-parties, RD, or any of the vendors you should honor them by having them introduced. Altho you could get around it by publicly thanking them in your toast.

Re: introductions...
We're going to do them. Especially since the more distant relatives on my FH's side don't know my parents, and vice versa. Its a nice way to get everyone acquainted.

Re: introductions...
I think you should introduce everyone and just because you don't have the right amount of people does not mean you can't make it work.
I have been to a wedding where that was the case and they had the guys walk out with a girl on each arm. And you know the guys played it up and loved every minute of it. And I thought it was cool the guests loved it they were taking pics and stuff

Re: introductions...
We did not have any intorductions just the 'Mr. and Mrs.' when we had our first dance. I just did not want a big fuss. I thought it was nice and simple. The bridal party did not care but one of our guests made a comment. She said that it would have been nice so everyone knew who was who in the BP. I say, she should have read the wedding program if she was so curious.

Re: introductions...
I am not doing introductions I see no need. My wedding programs and website will have short and meaningful passages about each person walking down the aisle and why I asked them each to participate.
I realize that honoring parents is a big and important thing to do. I, however, am in a very difficult situation. I am planning a wedding while my father is in hospice care and will not, for sure, live to see my wedding day. My mother has asked me to honor my father is a very subtle, discreet and not maudlin way during the ceremony. Planning a wedding without him, in the few short weeks we have been working on it so far, has been full of tears and anxiety. Out of respect to my mother, who does not want a spotlight on her any more than walking me down the aisle, I will not introduce anyone other than FH and myself. It is just too hard on us. Fortunately, FH's family understands.
I know I wouldn't have to do the bridal party arch thing but I never liked it.
