Who here is doing this or has done it? I'm thinking of doing it. I had braces for 5 years and never wore my retainer (stupid stupid me ) and just my top teeth have shifted? Does insurance cover this and has anyone only had to get for top teeth? I'm assuming it wil cost less. Also, any recommendations in suffolk county??? thanks!!!

Re: Invisalign
I am getting braces after I get married. My parents couldn't afford braces when i was younger so I figured after the wedding is as a good a time as any to do it.

Re: Invisalign
my insurance wont cover orthodontics for adults. (even though I never had braces as a kid) but my wisdom teeth werent pulled out early enough and my bottom teeth are crooked.
Invisalign is $$$$$

Re: Invisalign
My best friend/MOH has invisiline (she also didn't wear her retainer after 4 years of braces). They cost a fortune (well a few thousand $$$). Her insurance plan does not cover invisiline bc it is considered cosmetic. She has had it for almost a year and there is a noticable difference.

Don't feel too bad Rachel. I wore braces for over 3 years and quit wearing the retainer after a year maybe even less. I think it's easy to get sick of it!

I know it's a lot of money, but I was hoping insurance would cover it. Probably not though, form what I'm hearing. Oh well. Thanks girls.

Re: Invisalign
My friend who works with me got invisalign and it is coming out great. She only has one more month to go and the changes are amazing. I am going to go for it too. I have to switch insurances. The new insurance will only cover part of it and then it is about $2000 out of pocket. But well worth it!!!!!

Re: Invisalign
I just started the invisalign process. I am getting them on the top and bottom and it will cost 4,100. I am going to a certified orthodontist in Levittown. If you go to the invisalign web site they will have a listing of certified people. Insurance may cover some of it. Mine will cover about $500. Good luck!!

Re: Invisalign
I ended up going for braces a couple of years ago and I was quoted $5000 for the invisalign.. I would have done it, but I didn't like the dr..
