I just started actually using this site..so excited
How would I put into wording (invitation) NO CHILDREN !!!! I don't want to sound that mean, but FH and I just can't afford it. Also, would it be too many ' rules' if I also include formal attire?

i dont think you put anything abt the children on the invite. you would just address the envelopes to the parents and hopefully they'll get it...and not give you a hard time
you can put black tie, black tie preferred, black tie optional, etc on the invite tho

I read somewhere that if you didn't want children to come on the response card you can have a number of guests line and just fill it in for 2 yourself..that way maybe they get the hint.

As for the kids you can write
Adult Only reception
For the attire I think most people know that weddings are formal

I had something like this on my invitations.
When you say that you want it to be formal, do you mean black tie? If so, you could write something like 'Black Tie Adult Reception to follow' maybe .... otherwise, people will know to come wearing suits
