Invitation advice
Okay so we went to look at invites yesterday and apparently the new thing is not to add a reception card but to add the reception information ON the invitation itself. Is anyone doing this? Also I am not sure if I should pay to add a pretty accommodation card for my hotel that matches the invite or maybe create my own to save some money. I want it to look really beautiful but I am trying to stay within budget and since I am getting custom invites, its becoming difficult.

We added a separate reception card. It folded in half and I was able to put the direction card for Fox Hollow in it. They were actually really nice so I didn't mind that they were different than my invitation. Our invitation wouldn't have had room to fit the information for the reception on it. So we would have had no choice but to add a separate card, though I think I prefer the second card.

I couldn't fit it on my invites without it looking too cluttered. (Fh'S parents are divorced and both contributing so we had 3 sets of parents on there.) It wasn't too much of a savings anyway bc they charge a fee on the invites after a certain # of lines, which we would have had to do. We paid $70 for 150 reception cards.I'm just throwing in the accommodation cards from the hotel, we have 2 of them. At this point, 97 days, I'm not going to make more work for myself on something that I don't think has a big enough payoff. Imho...

I HATE the accommodation card from my hotel so I MIGHT have to make my own. I may also add a pocket on the back of my invitation but IDK how much it would cost extra

If you add a pocket, you'll probably want to use the accomodation card from your invitation vendor, so that it all lines up and matches. I think I'm going to have to do that. After 3 hours at the invitation place, I was pretty over it so I don't even know what I ended up deciding lol... now I'm just waiting for my proof to make changes

we are adding reception info to the bottom but are getting married at the venue. if the locations were different, i would probably add a reception card. i also didn't want to put the mismatched hotel cards in my invites so i just mailed them out with my save the dates instead.

We are getting married at the RH...so I thought it silly to do reception card BUT if I was getting married at a church and then reception at venue I think I would need a reception card....

You are lucky, I feel like that's the only time it works with fitting nicely on the invite.

Even if I can put it on the invitation itself?

I think it's just a matter of whether you want to go modern or traditional. Traditionally, the invitation only includes the ceremony and says 'Reception to follow' with the details on a separate card. If you want to put it all on one, go for it! Whatever works best for you however you think it looks best!

Like the other girls we are also getting married at the venue so the reception is on the invite itself...On the back of the venues directional card our invitation lady typed up: For Hotel accommodations and other wedding day information visit our website ect...She made it match the invite so that was one less card. Our hotel did provide us with their directional card and we used that too...at the end of the day the only card your guest will save if they do is the invite itself not the hotel card...I say save your money...with postage and all the invitation comes out to be expensive.Welcome New Vendors
