I realize invitation prices can range from the pre-made box at Target for 60 bucks to the extraordinarily expensive. I blindly set a budget of 200 for for 150 guests. Is that too low? What are some other people spending/their budgets? What's a good number to start with?
i got 175 invites with response cards - all addressing was done (on the response card and the guest addressing) for $500

Don't be embarrassed, if you have the money spend it! I didn't and I have such a big gust list that I know will 1) throw the invite away and forget the date and have to call anyway and 2) I just didn't have the room to spend on them. They are so seducing though how GORGEOUS the expensive ones are - so I understand the pretty penny!

i'm using vistaprint, and WITH my groupon, 100 invitations, with matching envelopes, response cards, an address stamp, and address labels are $130

totally depends on how custom they are and what not! michaels has some cute box sets which are budget friendly. we are ordered off of etsy and getting the invite, a reception card, a direction card, and the rsvp card (all envelopes w/ calligraphy included) for about $4.25 per invite.

I think I spent more on my DIY programs from Michael's! Prices add up quickly! I'm making 150 programs.

OMG i went out of control compared to our original budget. i think with everything in the end it is about $15 per invite--- redic i know! (but fh picked them and didnt have an opinion on much else so i didnt want to break his heart).
ps- they are letterpress.
we spent about 2.90 $ an invitation.

This is pretty much what we did as well! I felt that the invitation was important b/c it set the whole tone for the wedding.... We had a pocket fold, and they were customized with our colors.
I've gotten TONS of compliments on them!
