Invitation dilemma

Invitation dilemma

Hi Ladies - I'm hoping you can give me some advice. I'm about to mail my invites and I've got the directional cards to the hall to include but not ones for the church. I called the church about a month ago asking them to send me directional cards but they told me they don't provide them. So, what do I do? On my invites, it says the name of the church and town its in but not the address. Some people have suggested printing up my own but I don't know how I feel about that - I don't want to 'cheapen' the look of the invite nor go for the extra money we barely even have at this point. How do you think I should proceed with this? Is it a big deal to not include directions to the church? Is it unrealistic to think people that want to attend the ceremony will look up the information themselves? - Ugh, the dilemma!

Type up directions to the church and include it in the invitation. It wont cheapen the look of the invite and your guests will want directions. When I am going to a wedding I often just take the whole invite envelope into the car and then grab the directions as I'm pulling out of the driveway - if there werent directions included I might be out of luck.

I typed and printed mine out. It actually wasn't that bad and everyone thought that I had them done.
I will try to post it for you - not sure if it is the greatest picture though

Yea, definitely type them out andy maybe put them on the same type of card stock as the invitation. It really doesn't cheapen it and I cna't remember a single invite I've received that doesn't have a different type of directional card in it.

I agree with the girls. Type them up and print them out. There are so many types of cardstock available that I am sure you can get some to match your invitations. You want to make sure that it is easy for people to get to the church.

Include them if you can. We are doing both of ours (from hotel to church, from hotel to receptin) on different sides of cardstock.

We did the same thing!!!

Ive gotten EXTREMELY elegant wedding invitations that had the same thing as well.... i wouldve been sooo frustrated if we didnt have the directions to the church im bad with directions as it is, and as a guest, i wouldnt want to go on a wild goose hunt looking for it JMO.... i Never thought the direction cards made it look cheap... they served their purpose

I wrote my own text directions and had a map created by a knottie who's starting her own design business.

I'm printing them up tonight on white index card paper I got at Staples.

mainly bc of all the invites i've ever gotten has never included one, and it's never been a big deal, so it wasnt for me either.
