Are any of you lying about the ceremony start time on the invitation? One of my friends just did this so people are there on time.

I did mine on time. my family is always early to everything. everyone else i don't even care about. If you want to see the ceremony you get there early to get a good seat. If not, you didn't care that much anyway. I will be starting on time and my family will be there to see it, that's all that matters. LOL
That's how I feel. If you are late and miss it I don't care because the most important people in my life will be there. If that sounds mean oh well. It's rude to be late (unless there was some emergency or uncontrollable circumstance).

Re: Invitation fibbing
my venue reccommended it. He said they can come 1/2 before for hospitality hour. So i put half hour before the wedding for the ceremony time.

We didn't. My BM advised against this. Unless, you are doing a hospitality hr that is a different story. I would check with your BM.
We also told most of our guests to arrive on time bc the ceremony would roll right into the cocktail hr.

Absolutely....my venue, the invitation store and my coordinator all told me to put 30 min before my ceremony start time on my invitation. A lot of people will arrive at the time it says so this way they should all be there on time! : )

I'm considering it because we're getting married at the venue and we're having a short & sweet ceremony. I want to roll right into the cocktail hour!
exactly this!

I think we are going to put the exact time because 75 percent of our guests will be taking the coach bus we provide so we are in charge of the departure times

YES but our ceremony is at the venue and they host a 1/2 hr hospitality prior so that will start at the time we are putting (6pm, ceremony at 630)

Our venue will also provide refreshments prior to the service for those who arrive early. We're planning on a 3:30 ceremony start, so I'll most likely put 3:00 on the invitations. My relatives and friends don't usually run behind, but FHs friends are notorious. Good thing most of them are in the bridal party.

We put a 1/2 hour early! I refuse to have anyone waking in after the ceremony has started so I gave ppl extra time. If anyone STILL arrives late they won't be allowed in! I don't care if its grandma! Lol

Getting married at a Church and yes I will be putting 15 mins early. My actually ceremony starts at 3PM - the church wont book me before then but the priest who is marrying us is really sweet and said that if I am 15 mins early and ready to go he will start the ceremony. Thus i am putting 2:30 on the invite. Now if only i could lie to FH who is late for everything!
