Invitation Font Colors
Would it be wrong if my invitation was in a smokey grey color font but everything else (response card, envelopes, etc.) were in black color (the same font though). Reason is because I want to laser print all of the inner and outer envelopes myself butI can only do that in black. I really love the grey on teh actual invite though. I thought if i did it that way it would make the invite itself more special... what do you think?

I disagree. I think you should use all grey...
so that the different components of your printed invite match. Stick with the grey on the printed pieces, and do your envelopes in black. It may look strange to change the colors on the printed pieces, just to match the envelope. Remember - guests will throw away the envelope when they open it. All that's left will be the printed pieces, and if they are printed in different colors, that might look strange, or even appear as a mistake to your guests.

I think it would look better all one color font. *NM*

Invitation Font Colors
I can only print in black. I cannot print in gray. I either have to do all black or keep the invitation grey and do black on everything else. I would like to do the invitation grey as it looks so pretty. Would that be weird? Any advice woudl be appreciated :)

Verdila you have a point..
It is a dark grey, not a silvery one but you make a good point. So confused!

Angie - I think you are confused...
Sorry, but I think you missed a beat or something... Your invitations, response cards, reception cards, etc. will be ordered through an invitation company, right? Okay, so place your order for every piece using the same color font - grey, if that's your preference. Then, use your laser printer to address the inner and outer envelopes with standard black ink, just as you had planned. What's so difficult to understand?

We used silvery grey on our invitations and it looks beautiful. They are not hard to read at all. I think that you should do whatever makes you happy. In the end will it really make that big a difference if you have grey on the invitation and black on everything else? I also think that a lot of people won't even notice. As brides we tend to look at every detail with hopes of getting ideas for our own weddings, most people don't look at every detail. Do whatever makes you happy!

I didn't know if having the inner and outer envelopes in a different color from the invite would be okay or not so I was trying to get a feel if people have seen this done before. Of course the invite company will print it in whatever color I want I just didn't know it EVERYTHING had to be consistent.

Angie - what I did...
My invitations, reception & response cards were on ivory stock with charcoal grey printing. Even the return addresses on the envelopes were printed in charcoal grey. However, I had a caligrapher address the front of both inner and outer envelopes using black ink. It looked beautiful, and was not an issue. My recommendation was to keep the official font color that the invitation company will use consistent. Isn't that the whole reason you order a set? My opinion is the color of the address on the envelopes does not matter, and that was your original question, right? Best of luck with whatever you decide.Welcome New Vendors
