Re: invitation help
I think instead of Mr. and Dr. Joe Smith it should be Mr. Joe and Dr. Jane Smith...I'm not a Dr. or anything but I would assume that someone who worked so hard to get a title would prefer to be adressed by it...HTH

Re: invitation help
My FH is a doctor and he has tons of Dr friends, male and female - married.
From the Crane's Book of Wedding Etiquette:
In Which Woman Is a Doctor
Doctor Christine Clayton and Mr. Troy Clayton
or
Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
or
Doctor Clayton and Mr. Clayton
HTH!
Put the woman first when addressing 'Doctor'

Yup!
And if that's the case you do this:
The Doctors Clayton
or
Doctor Christine Clayton and Doctor Troy Clayton

Re: invitation help
Always check with the woman first to make sure she uses her professional title socially.
