Well, we did it; printed our own invitations and they came out beautiful!! So happy.
Quick question-is it okay to use clear address labels to address the invites. I have fibromyalgia so it's really hard for me to write anymore and we cannot afford to have anyone do it for us.
Also, can you abbreviate the state on the addresses; I know everything else gets written out but not sure about the state.

I had asked people about this and I was told pretty much from everyone that it is tacky. I still don't know what I'll do when the time comes but, I have seen it done. I know others to have done it in their own hand writting, as long as it is neat. HTH

I put the envelopes through the printer and just printed the addresses right onto the envelope. As far as the state, I abreviated most of them. I only wrote the state out if the address looked really short. I think theyre both okay, but what do I know?? lol

i've heard labels are tacky too. I would just print them right on the envelopes... takes a while depending on the number of invites but do a test run first and they should come out fine. I have terrible handwriting so I could never write the addresses out myself! I love the idea of printing our own invites... definitely considering i.

Hey, if thats what works for your situation, then to hell with what some may think is tacky!!!!
I think its perfectly fine to do the labels... I have gotten an invitation with a clear label and I didnt think twice about it... Who the hell really cares about these things... Once again its something that goes right in the garbage!!
Sry, had to vent... That just aggravates me.. Do whatever you want hun! It will look great either way!

Personally I don't really pay attention to the envelope and etiquette things so I wouldn't say tacky. But I think it looks nice to print directly on the envelope which you will be able to do yourself.

I also think you should just print them right on the envelope. I actually had a bad experience with clear labels because they always seem to smudge.
I do think the state looks nice when it is written out!

Thanks, ladies!! Well, I'll do a test run to see how the envelopes come out and if's it's too much of a pain, I'll just stick with the clear labels. I printed out a sheet of the clear labels with my address on it and put one on one of the response card envelopes and it looked great but we'll see.
Want to get them out in the mail this week no matter what!!
