Invitation Help....aka I screwed up and need advice QUICK!!!!Edited w/picture
Original post by jsta76
OK after all the frustration I've had I finally ordered and recieved my invitations.
The good news is that it took mere days. I ordered them on Thursday night, they arrived today in the mail.
The bad news. Stupid me forgot to include an RSVP date on them.
The company won't redo them because it was my own mistake and I really don't want to have to pay to have them redone.
Any suggestions?
I am soooo p!ssed off at myself right now, i feel like crying crying and I know I shouldn't
I have clear labels but they are too big.... ...i'm not sure if either 1) I can put two or three on a label and cut it down or
2)Maybe I should put the label on the front so they see the RSVP date before the rest,

It may take some fancy editing, but you can print (on your computer) just the 'please rsvp by ' at the bottom next to the little couple
am i making any sense??
that is what i was thinking.. its work a try

I would say use clear labels or maybe you can print a little poem a a business card (the ones you can buy at staples) and slip it inside with the RSVP date

I agree...I wouldn't put the clear label...thats just me...putting it through your printer is a good idea...ONLY if you're positive you can line it up correctly.
Calligraphy is the way to go in my opinion. I'm sure you could find someone to do it for you for next to nothing.
Good luck!
...and the lesson learned????
always post the sample for LIW girls to proof read before ordering...LOL...sorry HAD to!

I can't offer anything different than the other girls - I just wanted to give you some hugs. I printed the wrong address on our engagement invites so I had to send out a 'D'oh!' letter..
Everything's gonna work out Jen!

i would try running one through your printer, if it doesnt work try the clear labels, can you afford to maybe ruin one invite???

I think you should just leave them alone and send them out as is. Even with dates on them a lot of people don't respond until after the date or not at all. I would just start calling people if I didn't get a response back by the date you were going to use . A lot of people won't even notice there is no date. I would be afraid of ruining them by trying to add a label or run them through a printer.
I think i'm more afraid of the labels than I am the printer.
I think I might try it with one or two and if it doesn't work as suggested, I might do what you're suggesting and leave them alone.

I don't think we'd even try that....neither of us have very good penmanship and after one or two it would just get annoying.

I had the invitation proofread by one of the girls but didn't really bother with the RSVP.
The problem was I looked at it in the evening, made decisions, and then followed through the next day.

Bring it to Kinkos to see what they can do. I can't imagine them charging you much for a line of text.
