I know you are supposed to be less formal on the inner envelope. However, what if someone is invited with guest - how would you word the inner envelope?
Also - is this a big deal. I noticed on my response cards my invitation vendor put:
We look forward to sharing our special day with you! Kindly respond by June 15, 2007
M_____________________ Number attending ______
I'm a little annoyed that she used number attending... I intentionally put on the invitations 'Adult reception to follow immediately', now we leave it open to the guest to decide how many will attend? It makes no sense and a wedding ettiquette book I have says never put that b/c it leaves you open to have guests enter numbers like 5 when you budgeted for them to put 2. I know many disagree with me about kids (believe me my FMIL ripped me a new one b/c her other son's s-kids aren't invited, nor is the baby), but the only kids I want/can afford are the 3 in the Bridal Party and I wouldn't have any kids if FH didn't have one, but b/c he does I didn't want his to be alone. Anyway, is this bad and should I have the printing place redo the response cards? FH says no - he thinks Adult reception should do the trick and said if anyone puts more then 2 we'll have to call - I was trying to avoid such confrontation.

Re: Invitation inner envelope
If you are inviting someone and including a guest with them but do not know their name. You include the persons name that you are inviting and then write guest. I hope that I helped you out.
