Invitation issues UPDATED

Invitation issues UPDATED

My parents came over for dinner last night and brought our invitations with them. The front of the card was beautiful... looked just like the sample... but it folded over like a greeting card with a blank inside! The paper was light - my resume paper wa heavier!

So now we get to go back and pick other invitations and go through this all again.

I'm sorry. That stinks. Good luck with other invites!

I've seen invites like that before and never understood why they opened up like that, but apparently it's so you can put the direction card, rsvp card, etc inside rather than them floating loosely.

was this a DIY or did you order it from a company? when do you need to send them out by?

These were ordered from a place that sells invitations, favors, toppers, etc. My mom has worked with them for years.

The sample in the book didn't open up, and they didn't think it was important enough to mention. Now we have to find an invitation that's an identical size from the same company or we have to have envelopes reprinted also.

Sometimes things are glued down in the book so it's hard to tell. I have an idea! Why don't you cut it along the fold so it's one layer, and then mat it on cardstock you like as a back layer.

I'm not sure what your invites look like but it would solve your problem, be very easy and cheap to DIY and would probably look amazing.

Update:

Se we went to pick out new invitations this morning. The owner opened the store for us on a Sunday, which went a long way to improve my mood. We picked out invitations that were from the same manufacturer and were the same size, so we could us the same envelopes. And she didn't charge us for reprinting the invitations. We should have them by next Weds.

Whew. Crisis averted!
