invitation names

fh's first name is louis...but nobody ever calls him it (unless the want to see him get mad) he hates his name. everybody calls him lou. i think the wedding invitation should say louis but he hates it so much he keeps begging me to let it say lou. what do i do?!

Re: invitation names

have it say Lou, the name he prefers. My fiance has a long first name and our invitation only uses the name his friends call him..(a shortened version)

Re: invitation names

I had a similar issue.

I went with what FH wanted.
Federico is what it should have been, we went with Freddie.

Re: invitation names

right. think if you hated your full name and didn't want it on there. unless he's asking for an actual nickname like 'skip' i'd let him have his way.

Re: invitation names

I have a good friend from college whose husband is Jake, but apparently that's his middle name! They put Jake on the invitations, I believe, so everyone would know who the heck it was!

If he likes Lou, I say go with that. Just like if you hate your middle name, you don't have to put it on the invites.

Ehhhh if he REALLY hates it then I would say 'Lou'

FH's name is Randall but EVERYONE calls him Randy and I mean everyone, even at his last job they put 'Randy' on his business cards (which I thought was insane) but we're still putting Randall on the invitation... but he doesn't hate it. I asked and he was fine with Randall.
