So I've been on the hunt for invitations at various places and really am shocked at the prices!! One place quoted me $800, which I thought was HIGH! Then I went to another place 2nite, and was quoted $1600!!! I think my idea of how much I wanted to spend was way low...or are the places I've been to over-priced?
Is this normal? I would need 125..this was for 125 invitations, response cards and reception cards....I dont even know what a reception card is?? Can someone tell me what they are!!
Help! Can you tell me roughly your invite budget and maybe some good places to go!!
TIA~

Re: Invitation Price?
I went to Just Announce It in Oceanside. We are paying about $1000 but they are high end layered invitations on fancy paper. You can get simple ones for about $300. Check out the manufacturers 'Carlson Craft' or 'Birchwood' they are very reasonable. Encore is a little bit more but still affordable. I got William Arthur.
Just Announce It also offers 20% off all the invitations so you are saving $$ there. Also see if you pay cash-sometimes you can save on tax.

Re: Invitation Price?
That price seems outrageous. I would recommend trying to get them on the internet and like someone else said for like 5 dollars they will send you a sample. I'm getting mine from either theamericanwedding.com, wedding coach, they have a website and also a store in brooklyn or costco has a wedding invite website also. All of these sites have beautiful invitations for around 300-500 for the amount you are ordering.

Re: Invitation Price?
Are you interested in all at DIY invitations? That's what I am doing because I want my invites to be beautiful, but I refuse to spend a lot on something that people are going to throw out.
I went to a place called the writing place in stony brook and the women there are so nice - they don't pressure you at all. They had so many books with all different price ranges. I think you will definitely be able to find something - just keep in mind if you want something fancy its going to cost you more. They had some that were as low as $190 for 100 invites. Good luck!
