Invitation question

Would you ( and should I)
Spend about $75-$100 more on invitations that I really LOVE....or settle for some a LOT cheaper becaue hey they are just thrown out in the end???

Re: Invitation question

I love beautiful paper and calligraphy so I would spend money on something I love. I think it is such a nice way to do something to set the tone for the event. However, I have been struck by some of the incredible stuff that creative ladies on this site have put together for not so much $$$$. Sonic Stephanie does some beautiful stuff that I have seen -- menus and such, I do not know if she does wedding invites -- but that is another option.

It really depends on if you can cut $$$ out elsewhere....but thats just my thinking....and remember I am BROKE!

IMO i think it depends on how high on the priority list your Invitations are. even coming from someone who's planning a wedding (so i obviously notice wedding things ALOT more now)... the invitations we got in the past few months for weddings- they were beautiful, but as soon as i put it down, i forgot about it,,, and some of the best weddings i have gone to, i cant tell you A thing about what theyre invitations looked liked.

it may be a biased opinion though, and we actually made our own, but i think it really comes down to How important they are to you.

there are other things in my wedding that i probably couldve gone cheaper on, but the one that was a little bit more meant more to me, so we went with it.
If you really want them, maybe theres some other area that you can cut the $75 from, so it feels a little bit more justified
