Invitation question:

Just curious, cause it didnt 'look' right to me, but my mom got an invitation to her friends son's wedding... her friends husband past away , i am just curious and not saying whether it is right or wrong, or whether there is a right or wrong,

but they worded it with brides parents and grooms mother and 'the late *****'
so they included his father who past away... is this 'etiquette' , just wondering

Re: Invitation question:

Yes, that's fine if you want to write the name of a deceased parent.

Re: Invitation question:

I've heard that if it's worded as:

Mr and Mrs. Robert Smith
and Mr. and Mrs. James Jones

than the deceased person should not be listed because a deceased person cannot be a host.

BUT, if it's written as:

Mr Anthony Smith
son of Mrs. Mary Jones and the late Mr. James Jones

it's okay

Re: Invitation question:

they were written as the host...

(fortunately i am not in this situation, i truly was just wondering cause it didnt look or sound right) i understand their decision so I am not saying they did anything wrong by it...
