Invitation question

Hi everyone! This may seem like a silly question, but when you are sending out invitations are you enclosing directions to the church. I was thinking about typing them out but it would be too much work. So I was thinking of either by word of mouth or send out a big email. What do u think?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Invitation question

I am not sending directions to the church. Also, I have never gotten an invitation w/ directions to the ceremony. Good luck!

Re: Invitation question

I have never received directions to the church in a wedding invitation. You could type up the directions and then make a bunch of copies.

Re: Invitation question

I did receive directions to the church for one wedding and they were done very elegantly. They were done on a template similar to reception hall directions. White card, black ink.

I have never NOT received directions to the church. IMO, those are the most imporant directions since the invite is inviting them to the ceremony first then the reception.

If anything, include the church directions and then include directions to the reception on your program.

I think that including directions to the church could only help, and certainly do no harm, especially if many of your guests are unfamiliar with the area!!

Re: Invitation question

I'm enclosing directions to everything. I'm printing them out myself in an elegant font on off white 'parchment' paper that matches my invitations. In my mind, one extra sip of paper isn't a big deal compared to the thought that my guests -- the vast majority of which are from far away & unfamiliar with my neighborhood -- would get lost or delayed. I am very curious, how did all of you find the church's with no directions?? It seems odd to me not to include them. I've seen direction cards with the church directions on one side and the reception directions on the other, maybe I will look into this....I've always gotten church directions too.

Re: Invitation question

I sent mine out with directions. The church gave me a little sheet with directions and I made copies of them.

I have always received church directions with the invite... I am including them and since I have the time I made my own really pretty ones.

I included directions to the church also. We made up one card that had church, reception and all hotel information on it. I've been getting positive feedback so far.

Re: Invitation question

I did a double sided direction card and included it in the invite. One side curch direction and the other side hall directions. People will find your event.

Happy planning

Re: Invitation question

I have never received an invite without directions to the church. Why should guests have to play a guessing game or look up the info themselves. I'm going to do anything to make their lives easier!!
