Invitation question!!!

Ive seen it on here being talked about alot and have NO idea what it means...
What does hand canceling them mean?
Even though Im far away from ordering them, I am curious to know what Im in for!

If you have a thick invitation and it gets run through the machine to cancel the stamps, it may tear your envelopes or invites. If you go to the post office, they will give you the stamp to cancel them yourself so that your envelopes don't get ruined. HTH
