Such a dumb question, but FH has been annoying me about it. lol. He is a graphic designer, so we designed our invitations ourselves, along with our menus and rsvps and all that stuff. Our ceremony starts at 7:00pm and he thinks that on the invitation, we should put 6:30 because if we put 7:00, people will be showing up as we're starting the ceremony. I think we're supposed to put the actual time of the ceremony. Someone please help! lol.

Re: Invitation Question
I've heard of putting 15 minutes or a half hour earlier on the invites, but to me when it comes to a wedding, the time on the invite is the time it starts. JMO.

Re: Invitation Question
We put the actual time on the invitation, most people, at least our friends/family, etc., know that 5:30pm means a@s in seat at 5:30pm.

Re: Invitation Question
People sometimes do this, just check with your RH first. Mine said not too because if they come a few min early anyway then they would be hanging around for 45 minutes with nothing to do b/c theres no lobby or anything to hang around in...

Re: Invitation Question
Our RH suggested putting 30 min earlier on the invite....They will welcome guests will a champagne greeting...30 min will fly, so I don't think anyone will mind. Besides most of our guests are traveling from NJ and Brooklyn...traffic can be hell.

Re: Invitation Question
I know a lot of girls have posted that they put an earlier time on their invites, but I put the actual time. I figured if people don't realize that they need to be there at that point, then their loss if they are late. For the record, only two couples were late due to traffic and we didn't even know until after the ceremony.

Re: Invitation Question
Mine RH did too. We put 6:00 but the ceremony really starts at 6:30. The RH provides champagne & sparkling water while guests are arriving. I'm so glad we did this, I don't want anyone walking into the ceremony once it begins.

Re: Invitation Question
If you put 6:30 all these people are going to show up 30 minutes later and probably will be a little annoyed that they had to wait an extra 30 minutes i would just put 7pm.

Re: Invitation Question
I am putting the correct time. I always show up early to things and I would not be the happiest if I found out someone put an earlier time on an invite which lead to me just sitting around for a longer amount of time, I do not want to do this to those who put the effort in to be on time and its a wedding people should come on. ITA! If people don't realize that 5pm means 5pm, then I can't help them!
