So I'm having a 2 day ceremony. For the Indian ceremony, the main colors are red and gold. For the Christian ceremony/reception the colors are purple and teal. What color should I do the invites??

Re: Invitation Question..
I am also having an Indian ceremony and the reception is the day after. I did two different invitations because I did not want anyone to get confused also Indian weddings are very conservative (vegan meals and no alcohol) while the reception anything goes....so I had to have my invites designed to reflect that

Re: Invitation Question..
My situation is very similar to yours. The Indian ceremony is going to be conservative with no alcohol and the reception is going to be the total opposite. I was thinking about doing an invite with inserts, similar to this: D-3862, Cream Color, Shimmery Finish Paper But I'm not sure what color to do it in. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your invitations?

Re: Invitation Question..
IMO if you are doing one invite with a insert card for the reception then you really need to make the date very big and clear because people automatically assume that the ceremony and reception are the same day when in this came it is two separate days
I got my wedding invites from Indianweddingcard.com and the reception invites are DIY.

Re: Invitation Question..
That's the same site that I'm planning on using...a lot more affordable than most of the other invitations places out there. You do bring up a good point bc his parents are covering most of day 1 and my parents are covering most of day 2. I will bring that idea up to him and see what he thinks.
Are you having your ceremony in a mandir? FH and I don't want to do the nikkah in a masjid bc our families are different religions. I was thinking about using Maurya on Woodhaven for the ceremony bc the price he's giving us is really good, but the only downside is that it's in a basement. I've never went to any weddings there so I don't know what the service is like..I really like the Sterling though...but that's a little above our price range.

Yes I will be getting married in a mandir...it's on archer and is absolutely beautiful and one of more modern ones.
Really check Maurya out because the place is nasty!! I know it's really big and whatever but have you been in their bathroom? Most people do not do nikkhas in the masjid anyway so at least your in luck...did you check out fair field pavilion on 101 avenue? It's a nice little hall, decent price. I was going to do my Hindu wedding there but went with the mandir instead because they do all the decorations and stuff at no extra charge.

Re: Invitation Question..
Yea we just did a quick walk through and didn't really get to get a good look at the place. Fairfield Pavilion...is that the place with the mechanic shop underneath it? I really like the Sterling, but it might end up running us $25,000 alone just for the nikkah, which I think is crazy when you add in the cost of the reception! I need to win the lottery badly lol.

Re: Invitation Question..
Yup but the mechanic shop is slightly off to the right. It's not by the entrance...what about akbors and worlds fair marina

Re: Invitation Question..
Akbar is about the same price as Sterling and there was something i didn't like about Worlds Fair Marina but I can't remember what it was now. I'm just trying to save my money and cut costs in other areas and maybe it will all work out!
