I know people ask these questions all the time, so I'm sorry to ask again. I'm not sure on the wording for the invitations. Both of our Fathers have passed and my Mom is helping pay for the wedding, but his mother isn't. So I'm not sure what to do. any suggestions would help... thanks!!
I'm not sure, but why couldn't you use the traditional format, but instead of using Mr& Mrs. and parent of, use Mrs. and mother of? This way your mom gets the recognition and you can tell your FMIL that you wanted to stick with the traditional way of doing things, and that's why it's worded that way.
Mrs. (Your Mom's name)
requests the honour of your presence (or requests the pleasure of your company)
at the wedding of her daughter
Your name
and
Your fiance's name
etc....
