Re: invitation stamps
It depends on the weight of the invitation.

Re: invitation stamps
you should stuff one and bring it to the post office so they can weigh it for you.

FH is weigning our tomorrow...I'll let you know how much it comes out to...they're all different (not ours, but all invites in general) but it will probably be around the same amount.

IMO everyone should weigh them regardless. I'm almost POSITIVE my postage will be .63, but imaging if I was a penny short and they were returned for postage ??????

Re: invitation stamps
If you are in the one ounce first class weight, it is extra (.63 I think) but if your over one ounce... then it is what it weighs. We did square invites for our e-party but that was before postage went up!

Re: invitation stamps
I just took mine to the post office. They are 63 cents. The post office makes stamps just that price with a dove on it for weddings. And then there is a return 39 cent stamp for the RSVP. They are very cute.

Re: invitation stamps
We had very large square invites..larger than most, and they, too were .63...ask for the wedding stamps that match with the regular stamps..They said they are new for this year! I love them..very cute (You know you are wedding crazy when you start saying that you love stamps
)

Re: invitation stamps
Yes, absolutely take it to the PO to get them weighed, and you can buy the stamps at the same time. They come in 20-stamp sheets. I wound up with a lot of extras.I put the dove green and purple stamps on my invites, they're very nice. I asked the guy at the post office and he said if you have the inner envelope, reception card, response card/envelope, invite and directions inside, he's never seen them under 63 cents.

Re: invitation stamps
Most invites are $.63....the $.39 covers up to 1 ounce, the next ounce is $.24 . I copied this from the USPS website for you. Our invites were pretty heavy from all the inserts and still only needed $.63 .First-Class Mail® is used for personal and business correspondence. Any mailable item may be sent as First-Class Mail. It includes postcards, letters, large envelopes, and small packages. The maximum weight is 13 ounces. Pieces over 13 ounces can be sent as Priority Mail.
The minimum size for First-Class Mail is 5 inches long, 3-1/2 inches high, and 0.007 inch thick. Pieces weighing 1 ounce or less may be subject to the nonmachinable surcharge.
First-Class Mail Rates
First ounce $0.39
Each additional ounce $0.24
First-Class Mail Rates Weight not over (ounces) Rate
1 $0.39
2 $0.63
3 $0.87
4 $1.11
5 $1.35
6 $1.59
7 $1.83
8 $2.07
9 $2.31
10 $2.55
11 $2.79
12 $3.03
13 $3.27
CaMacho did square/pocketfolds...she used the 'wedding stamps' on hers i believe from seeing the photos.
hint: a regular envelope can have 3 sheets of paper folded inside and still use a $.39 stamp. I found that on the USPS website as well....very good to know that I've been over-stamping letters!!
