Invitation time wording....

Is the correct wordage for 4:30

Four-Thirty in the Afternoon
or
Half Past Four in the Afternoon?

I'm not sure what is correct, but 'four-thirty ' seems clearer than 'half past four'. I'll probably go with that one for mine (only mine will be five-thirty).

our invites say Four Thirty in the afternoon

I have seen both so I think it is a matter of taste not etiquette. Personally, I think half past four sounds more dramatic but that's JMO!
