Invitation Vent

Invitation Vent

Thank you to all the ladies who gave me emergency help during the invitation stuffing process.

Now off on the rant....since my mother INSISTED on addressing the envelopes herself on the computer and since she had control issues about doing them ALL HERSELF, I decided to leave it in her capable hands....well as invitation after invitation passed me as I was stuffing the envelopes, I noticed that more than half of them were addressed improperly and 90% of them had black ink marks from the printer on the envelopes.....so....how annoyed do you think I am right now??????????????????? None of the attorneys that I work for were addresed as attorneys....there were abbriviations all over the place, Miss was not used at all....she used informal names on the outside envelope, etc. I dont' know why I bother to get upset but I really did want everything to be right

I understand how you feel, but most people throw the envelope out anyway, so hopefully they won't notice it! And if they do, they'll forget about it by the time your wedding rolls around. Try not to be upset.

If it makes you feel any better the calligrapher misspelled my FSIL last name and her husband gets SOOOO upset when that happens. I didn't even notice. She just laughed and threw away the envelope! I also had two envelopes with the wrong address and get returned- no one cared. I even had them hand cancel them at the PO and when I asked friends if they did it, they all said I was nuts and that they didn't notice.

No one will care- only we do

Attorneys do not need Esq. on their envelopes - only judges get The Honorable.
I hope that makes you feel a little better.

Re: Invitation Vent

Thanks for making me feel better. I think the heat is getting to me.....with so many things to worry about two months before the last thing I want to worry about are invitations people are going to throw out anyway!!!!!!! I guess I just wanted things to be perfect. Just hope nobody notices or gets insulted!

I was going to say the same thing. I think for that Esq. is only used for business, and not social. So that is one less thing you have to worry about.
