Invitation Wording??

Invitation Wording??

I am going for my invites tomorrow night (weather permitting) and I don't know how I should word them. My FH and I are paying for the reception and most of the vendors ourselves, but still want to include our parents names on the invite. I was thinking something along the lines of:

(Bride)
and
(Groom)
together with our parents
(Mr. & Mrs. Brides Parents)
and
(Mrs. Grooms Mom)
request the honour of your presence....
OR...
invite you to the celebration of our wedding...

I don't know. What should I say? I don't want it to be too wordy. Help please! Thanks!

Re: Invitation Wording??

You could use either one of 'request the honour of your presence' or 'invite you to the celebration of our marraige'.

It just depends on the formality of your invitation I think. The same thing goes for 'Saturday, July thirtieth' or 'Saturday, the thirtieth of July'.

You get what I'm saying?

I think this sounds great. My only suggestion is flip flop the bride/groom section with the toogether with our parents so its says...

Together with our parents
Mr. and Mrs. Brides Parents
and
Mrs. Grooms Mom
request the honour of your presence...

Re: Invitation Wording??

'The honour of your presence' should only be used if the ceremony is taking place at a church...otherwise it's 'pleasure of your company' or anything else along those lines. We did 'Together with our parents' then our names.

Good luck!
