Invitation Wording

FH has a 13 yr old son. We are doing a 'family joining' ceremony as well as the marriage vows. For our invites, I put

FW and FH, along w/ FH kid, request the honor ... and so on

I never even thought about my parents being put on the invitations b/c
1-my parents are divorced
2-his parents aren't coming
3-we are paying for 95% of the wedding

so mainly b/c of fact #2 i didn't know how to write it, so we saw 'joining' verse and grabbed it.

BUT ... now I feel so awful I didn't put my mom or dad. My mom said she didn't care and my dad never shows emotion BUT I am their only daughter and this is my only wedding.

So heres my question: how do i acknowledge them? Just in the program? I want it written somewhere, along w/ FH and I verbally thanking them and all that.

Help! How can I make them stand out!!

Re: Invitation Wording

I would say put a big thank you to them (your parents) in the program. Maybe even make a little speech at the wedding thanking them for their support, etc.

Both my Dad and FH's parents are not contributing, so we felt there was no need to mention them in the invite, but will be thanking them for their support, etc.

PS~I love the way you mention FH's son in the invite...that is so precious! I'm sure it makes him feel good.
